Prestige called us out for "camping" even though we cwed almost daily and we still chose to cw with them many times even though we had a 1st place with a massive elo gap. Now, when they're first place they camp and dodge and cw with rank 5's only. Pure Irony and real classy guys, I used to have respect for this clan too. But, honestly I'm not surprised, though I do want to point out the irony. It's another reason why CW playoffs are a good idea imo, so stuff like this doesn't happen every season.

You know, there are some very cringe indie strategy games coming out in the last couple of years, that retain a much larger playerbase than atwar. Even if the AI is extremely easy to beat for human players, it is a necessary element of the gameplay.

So given that AI 2.0 (like i mean bots in games) is coming our way with full thrust at this point, having at least basic AI bots is a must.

Would that elevate the game overall? No idea.

A revisited approach to a better seasonal theme (other than coalition wars) and perhaps more events might drag a larger audience back as well.
For example... some guy had the idea of picking communism, fascism or democracy at the start of the game, besides a strategy. With all of them having different bonuses, such as communism giving you +1 reinf in all cities. This will lead to certain combinations or new meta. You can either make this seasonal, available for 3 months, or an event, for instance only available in December. Then reiterate on this idea and decide whether you keep this in the game or not.

However... atwar has no active development, which would be required for this. Dave develops this game as a hobby project. He is not working on it full time because quite frankly it is not worth it financially.

Can you convince him that it is worth it? Well, good luck i guess.

It's great that you're still having a good time after so many years

I discovered this game back in high school around 2012-2015 and it's always held a special place in my heart. After school my friends and I would race to one of the few computers in our classroom so we could play. If you think you're annoyed when you get betrayed by an ally just imagine getting betrayed by an ally 3 seats away from you! It was always a good time.

I've played this game off and on randomly ever since then with large gaps of inactivity but this year I've really jumped back into it headfirst. I missed having those fun game nights with my friends so I got one of my friends into the game and he loved it so much we ended up starting a small discord server with a decent size number of our gaming friends and the last couple of weeks especially have been a blast! We've been having scheduled matches a couple times a month (Depending on time and schedules of course) with a wide variety of maps, we have map votes for our next matches, I've been a lifetime member for years and a few of them have already become lifetime members now or are considering it. The first time the new players finally beat me (I'd been kicking their butts for a couple weeks and never lost since the creation of the server lol) it was cause for quite the celebration and trash talk! It's still talked about often as "Their greatest accomplishment".

It's been awesome showing the new players I've introduced to the game how to play and having likewise friends to play with and get excited for future matches. Getting to have such a variety of matches with a decent number of players like I used to in High School has been an amazing time. I know I might not be one of the OG high ranking members who've been around since the beginning but I just wanna say I love this game and I'm so happy it's still running.

I just felt like sharing this little story with whoever is still alive out there in the community! I hope you're all doing well.

Those numbers are heavily inflated, most sources dont put total KIA in ukraine over 500k, and thats with 2 countries that have a combined population of nearly 200 million, for 3 years of heavy combat thats still historically low rates of KIA.

Why do people leave 3v3s if their t1 is shit and everyone follows?
that does not justify ruining the game for the team that benefited from your bad turn 1, you didnt even try to salvage the game and make a comeback, you just edged the winning team and nobody had fun, its selfish and moronic,
furthermore, having a bad turn 1 is not an excuse to leave it just means you suck at the game. not 5 other peoples problem, but you just ended up wasting their time.
