So in my attempt to create a fairly realistic Lord of the Rings Map based upon the final war for the Ring, I had a few ideas. The first being the heavy use of rivers, and making mountains water while blocking off river exits. This will force players to focus on naval as well as troops, the mountains create choke holds and key positions. But my main idea which I have tested is failing. Minas Tirith is the capital of Gondor, it shall be guarded by a single unit called ''The Great Gates.'' It deals +100 damage to all units expect another singular unit called ''Grond.'' Grond is a slow unit and can only be transported by Trolls. It deals +100 damage to ''The Great Gates.'' My idea was to make the city impregnable unless a large force aswell as Grond attacked the city but Grond fails on most occasions. I also had a similar idea for the capital of Mordor which would be Mount Doom. I created a unit called Frodo, which was stealthed and could fly. It could carry a unit called ''The One Ring.'' Mount Doom would be guarded by ''The Eye'' (If someone can think of another metaphysical metaphor for the death of Sauron, I'm all ears) which would be similar to ''The Great Gate.'' It would deal massive damage to all units except ''The One Ring'' which would be its weakness. If the Rin reaches Mount Doom, it will capture the city and Mordor will instantly lose leaving is allies vulnerable to a Gondor without it's heavy opposition. Just like in the story, if Frodo dies or if the Ring does not reach Mount Doom, the game is lost for Man and its allies. Now here is my problem. The Ring and the Ram usually fail. I wanted to create a unit similar to the Assassin rare unit which kills generals and commanders but I'm not sure how and for a unit to be so important to the game, I don't want either to fail. Their objective is to reach their destination and destroy the each capitals guardian but on most occasions, the units die without taking out the Guardian. I did have a plan for the One Ring so that it would be so powerful it could destroy anything but give it only one HP meaning it has only one use. This could work and it would force the controller of Frodo to be extra careful. After all, if they fail, the game could be lost. Any ideas on how to fix this, plus any other ideas people have for me to implement into the game. For those who played the original LOTR map I made, don't worry, this one is smaller and far more playable with areas split up.

Simple just make it have -100 defense against this assassin unit.

The way assassin units work is, commanders have an increased defence against them, which makes them the first unit to join the fight. Since they only have 1 HP, they die. I don't think what you're trying to do with the Ring/Sauron is possible at the moment, unless you find some other clever way to do it.
