Should this soon to be state be recognized?

Should it be recognized considering the Kurdish YPG has been instrumental in the fight against Daesh and has shown the ability to defend themselves and respect other minorities? In other words, should their be an independent Kurdistan for one fo the largest non-state minority in the world?

For me, I see the Middle East and its religious and cultural/ethnic divisions similar to that of Europe centuries ago. All fo the states are multi ethnic with little sense of national identity among the majority of the groups. If the Middle East is to have the stability Europe has, I feel it needs nation-states (nation as in nationalities, state as in a country. ie. Kurds are a nation, Kurdistan their state). Perhaps the borders of the Middle East need to be redrawn.... but by who and through what methods?

They are secular, democratic, leftists, with 30-50% women fighters among their ranks, have delivered tons of pain and humiliation to evil Turks over the years and are the only people in the isis infected M.E. area, that instead of running to Europe, not only stand and fight, but whoop some serious Isis ass. Whats not to love!

Biggest supporters of the Kurdish people are the Russians and Iran , the US also favours them because they are very efective in fighting ISIS. The way the map was drawn by the west was very wrong and like you said it left a lot of different people in one state which creates all the chaos and wars we see today. The Kurdish population is from somewhere from 30 to 40 million (thats a huge number considering there are states in the world independant with populations as low as 1 million.They are bound to have a state in my opinion.

Not every country is called by their national majority (ie: Russia, Bulgaria, Germany, England, France).

I have always heard of it to be called Kurdistan (can I ask where Aram came from though? Having difficulty finding information on it).

From my perspective, if you look at Germany or France, everyone there speaks the same language, everyone has very similar cultural and religious traditions (OR respect each other's differences). In the Middle East, there is a lot of bad blood because only one segment of society is in power all the time and does not respect other groups. Afghanistan, while comprised of the two ethnic groups you described, has a different situation than in the Middle East. While a strong Afghan identity is not present completely (imo I think it is beginning to foster), the tribes in the area respect each other enough to not attempt secession or invade other parts (with the exception of extremist groups). The Middle East needs to develop some type of nation-state identity or at least have a respectable government like in Lebanon years before the civil war where Christians, Jews, Muslims, Druze, and minorities in between all lived together in peace (Beirut was considered the Paris of the Middle East).

Only ones that would say no are butthurt nationalist Turks.

Considering Turkey has been suppressing Kurds for years resulting in a civil war in the southeast- they've had this one coming. As for Iran, I am not sure if the Kurds there have the ability or the will to fight a war of independence. I think most Iranians have a strong national identity and would much rather see reforms in their government than regime change.

If there are sovereign nations with populations up to 100.000 people, why can't there be a Kurdish sovereign nation? They've been instrumental in the fight against ISIS and have proved their worth and honour, besides, Saladin was Kurd as some say

So Yes, I favour nationalism and the self-determination of (some) people, and I do believe Kurds should have their own nation.

Part of me says yes, just to fuck with the Turks. But then again, Israel has been investing a lot of effort and money into Kurdish independence. My instinct and the instinct of any sane gentile should be to always do the opposite of what they want.

What do you think would happen if the Kurds were able to develop their own country? Arn't the Israelis simply funding the Kurd to screw over Assad with the added bonus of not being radical jihadist?
