I don't think DS is intended for World Games. All it's disadvantages and weaknesses: poor defense, cost inefficiencies, and weakness against bombers and AA, become exposed over the course of a long game. DS shines in EU+ games where you can basically out expand everyone else since you'll require fewer units to capture surrounding countries and, assuming you started in a cheap enough country like Ukraine or Poland, you will be able to maximize new recruits.

I can only speak for myself, but if you have Stealth planes for attack and good Naval stealth to transport the ground stealth, which you partly still have left over, then it really isn't that bad for world games. You just probably have to switch in the later half of the game to produce this instead of helis, to have more range and easily get over the oceans. It doesn't make any of these units weaker and even gives the ground stealth a bonus. The only problem is just that you have to find good ports to produce enough Submarines.

in a world game asia is most inf heavy and where DS can capitalize on bonus against inf most. Lots of money. Lots of ports and close cities mean you can mobilize mass units if you have the money in one or two turns. This is most effeciant for enconomy as the cost for trickling in units all adds up as they are in play for longer. With this you can just acquire enough money and boom set off.

Dunno. Sounds good in theory, but if you ever play DS in China have fun dealing with all the SM players who start up in Japan and Korea and China.
