Nerf TB!

Because goblin deleted his thread because he got bullied and didnt wanted to be hated by the community. I decided to make this thread because I can't get more hated than I already am <3

NERF TB! 1 unit tbing 45+ stacks is just ridicilous..

Anyway, where's the point for asking to nerf tb when it seems that old players want the old tb system, which was even more op? XD

you didn't ask me for tb mechanics, you said that you knew them, you just wanted to learn tb-s at same level i do, you were begging me for 3 days. So you say that tb-s are not fair and still you want to use *unfair* tactics, that says that you just want tb-s nerfed so you will have more chance to win, and nothing more. stop saying nonsense that it is unfair. you just say it for your private reasons, becuz you can't use it well you prefer it to be removed, you want this for your private amusement

Bro if I want a tb to happen it works 9 out of 10 times. I dont know what crap you are talking about now. Go ask eagle in our 3 duels we had, none of my tbs which meant to be a tb has been failed. It doesn't really destroy the turn-block mechanic, though. If you attack 50 units with 50 units, the turn-block probability is still 50%. No change from the current system. It just makes the game more sensible by reducing the probability that a large stack of units will be turn-blocked by a small stack of units and also increasing the probability that a small stack of units will be turn-blocked by a large stack.

Now I come to think about it, though, it's probably better to just write a more sophisticated turn-block system that doesn't require a random number generator at all.

On one hand youve people wanting the return of the old tb system, a much more punishing version of this one, on the other hand youve people wanting to go in the opposite direction almost completely cutting out the effects of tbs in game altogether

Ok so you have:

• old players who don't even play anymore who talk about old system with nostalgia
• people including me who want the tb system to be less luck based with determined effective amount of units that should have a chance at all to tb a stack ...not my stack of 16 who i moved 4 times as first move to be blocked 4 times by 1 unit
• people who actually think they understand the tb's and act pro even tho its all based on luck and they are only attacking everything with 1 unit as first moves ...and they say stupid crap like i discovered tb's as rank 5 ...

So whats the problem Lao ...why is it weird that there are 3 sides of this? Because your post looks like Waffel or me are asking for old and something new at the same time.

Who said we want to remove tb's altogether? ...why you do this ...why you change the subject of the topic, accusing us of saying something we didn't say and then we have to have 10 pages of a thread arguing about something no one said

I'm not a noob and i wasn't playing a top player yet i couldn't move for 4 turns because 1 unit attacks seem to be 100% effective, and they seem to pull other non-tb'd units with them.

P.S. Soldier ...why i say your rank 5 discovering tb's is dumb ...because pretty much everyone knows about tb's as soon as they start playing. But you sure as hell didn't use it on a massive scale or anyone for that matter until recently ...and thats why we couldn't have known how much luck based bullshit can come from tb's used constantly at every turn using small amount of units which shouldn't be able to tb much bigger stacks.

Why does everyone think my proposal will seriously weaken turn-blocks? It only reduces turn-block chance if the attacking unit stack is smaller than the defending unit stack. If it is bigger, it will actually increase the turn-block chance.

That way, if you feel like turn-blocking an enemy stack, you actually have to send a decent number of units.

Both.

So, for example, let's say a 6 unit stack (second move) tries to turn-block a 25 unit stack (fifth move),
The turn-block chance would be 0.5 * (6^2 /2) / (25^2 /5) = 7.2%. Note how the unit counts (6 and 25) are both squared.
If you're significantly outnumbered by your enemy, the chances of you successfully turn-blocking your enemy is remote, even if you're ahead on turn order.

Let's assume again that a 15 unit stack (first move) tries to turn-block a 10 unit stack (also first move).
The turn-block chance would be 0.5 * (15^2 /1) / (10^2 /1) = 112.5% (100%).
If you significantly outnumber your enemy (militia spam?!?), the chances of you successfully turn-blocking your enemy is very high, unless you're seriously behind on turn order.

But as I said, in retrospect, this doesn't sound like such a good idea. I'd rather have a turn-blocking algorithm that doesn't rely on a random number generator.

Wanna have a chance at blocking 40 units? ...you have to send at least 10 in order for AW to even consider the block.

Blocking now is ridiculous, when i can tb a huge stack with 1 unit and on the other hand ...sometimes opponents stack of 15 for example evades my stack of 50 with no problems for several turns.
Disclaimer: all based on priority moves being first from both sides.

Another disclaimer: this isn't a cry ...this is me realizing that rage of many people was justified when i started doing this kind of bullshit and blocking them with 1 unit.

Normal? ...is it normal for a military division to get blocked by a squad.

@Ferrluci ...this isn't tb removal proposal, its lets increase turn blocking value by making it a strategical, brain using move instead of assaulting everything with 1 unit getting lucky and then claiming to be tb master.
