What defines an inactive mod?

Clovis said that if they arent online for 1 year they should get demoted, yet Meester and Pulse haven't played a single game in 3 and 4 years respectively.

a moderators job is to moderate, not to fix bugs.

if they dont log in and moderate they should be immidetly replaced, luckally for them atwar is a banana game so nothing of use is being done.

Is it their fault the community sucks and people are assholes? Is it their responsibility to fix bugs or promote the game? Do they moderate badly? Do they affect the current active moderators in a bad way? Or is all this a desperate shout of "demote mods to make space for new mods like me!!"

I don't get you all. We have bugs to fix, a scenario editor to publish, a game to promote, a game to make interesting and fun again and you guys are whinning about an unexisting problem?

Yes, there are alot of problems caused by moderators who try to act as bullies, and bias people. Mods give people the reason to be assholes.

ummm.. we can reconsider the issue if there's some sort of agreement, I think there are fair points from both sides. But we do listen and care for your opinion guys, that doesn't means that we'll always do what you guys want. You can still expect from me to read and think about you guys posts.

Tunder I do think that this is a great conversation to have, as there really isnt any guidelines or regulations set in stone. I am actually currently trying to add some more concrete regulations to a lot of things on atwar (muting rules, banning rules, including what it means for a mod to be "innactive") so that way the community can be on the same page with the mod team, and theres not this gap between players and mods. I think it would be great to see the communities opinion on this issue

Actually why would you care; according to you being mod isn't anything special.
Don't mention Safari; you know shit. Your 5 minutes experience as (uninvited) mod do not count.

I haven't played a legitimate game since 2012(?) or 2013 because I disagree with the changes made to it that drove many people away, but I've stuck around hoping that something is done to reverse this or to drum support for a move a different game. I'm sure a lot of inactive mods are here or were for similar reasons; still appreciating the community to some extent and wanting to work with the staff to improve it in small ways. Then again, since 2015 or or 2016 it seems like all of the Moderators are just high-tier players rather than individuals wanting to moderate. Imo this is a shit system of promotion but what can you expect when the game is a fucking corpse.

Why you defend not demoting inactive mods soo much? You say you resigned because you don't have time to moderate, which is a good decision, why would you ask to be demoted if you think there is nothing wrong about staying as an inactive mod? And he's already explained why keeping them as mod isn't beneficial for the game.
