I have a solution for all socialists who think landlords are the devil. Next time you see homeless people, you should take all of them and welcome you in your home. After all, if you expect a property owner to let your begging ass into their property for free, why shouldn't you bring homeless people into your home for free?

I mean if someone owns the property, its their property they can do whatever the fuck with it. They will usually make it affordable so they can do business with renters, and make a profit (similar to how low prices can create more profit). If people don't have ways of renting or buying, then the government has more than enough money to build commieblocks
or we can just end immigration and encourage those already here to have more kids so its less families but more people

Agreed.
What happens when it takes 2-5 years for the government to get planning permission to build commiblocks or social housing though?
What happens when the landlord is also losing money? What happens when the landlords are too mean or harsh when it comes to rent? What happens when social housing rents are also too high and its either staying inside your mams house or out on the street (While having a child, job and have to buy food and pay for other bills?
Imo, laws for improving housing and social housing is needed. Even to an extent radical changes, fast, chop chop. People are literally dying on the streets over here, and obviously everywhere else too

Its a fair system, being a landlord is not free money, you must take care of the apartment, you pay the bills. Now dont blame the landlords blame the system longterm it pays off more to buy a house or an apartment then be a rentoid. This means tho, that not all the populace can afford to buy a house upfront, but generally its a good investment unlike most goods it increases its value over time in almost every nation, if you cant buy a house take a loan from a (((bank))), given you have good credit. Most landlords dont make much from renting and they are regural people. Just buy dont rent

Altho i agree that if you own an appartment, you should decide how much you will rent this out. But i think this is another example where the market will eventually fail. Unless you want situations like new york, London, Amsterdam and Hong Kong.
Let me explain this to you:
People with big money, be it individuals, or companies want to invest their money. They buy a lot of appartments > prices rise > price for rent goes up > natives who are born but cannot afford to pay for these houses have no option but to leave the city and move towards lower priced areas.
Almost all big cities who have not much government regulation experience this.
Monthly salary of a teacher is €2.800 (Amsterdam) https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/werken-in-het-onderwijs/vraag-en-antwoord/wat-verdien-ik-als-leraar-in-het-voortgezet-onderwijs
Price of an appartment is €2700 https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/in/Amsterdam
Now tell me how can a normal job afford to stay in the area of his job.
Prices go up because of expats, because of appeal of the city i.e. more jobs here, because of black market. You rent an appartment for €2500, but you rent the same appartment for another person willing to pay more so you make an benefit. Prostitution is an example of people wanting this appartment. Expats who have no idea what the real cost of an appartment is will want it.
Just this month Berlin has announced that all landlords must reduce their rents by a large amount. Its the first major city to do this.
https://www.dw.com/en/berlin-landlords-forced-to-reduce-rents/a-55704047
The reason for the government to do this: they dont want to become the next Amsterdam/ London/ New York/ Hongkong.
Also if you are a student, wanting to come to study in Amsterdam, the average price for an room of 12m2 is €700. And this is not an exaggeration.
Here are some screenshots of appartment costs which i just saw on facebook for Amsterdam:
€1550 without utilities , outside city centre , 2 bedrooms https://prnt.sc/vs11wx :
€2000 with utilities, outside city centre, 2 bedrooms https://prnt.sc/vs12y4
Oh and forget about a parking spot for your car. Every where in Amsterdam, you pay for parking. Price per hour in city centre €10. Outside city centre €5

Im not familliar with Amsterdam so my analysis maybe does not apply with position now.

Its the same as in New York, Hong Kong, London, Tokyo.
Every major city has this problem.

Just buy dont rent
problem is that most young people literally can't buy so they just end up renting
i mean even if you make 6 figures, it takes many years of saving up before you can afford a house in a city with a good job market
