Now you may think that Feanor was the source of all of the disaster during the First Age of the Sun.

But consider this: Feanor's father had just been killed. It was the first murder in Valinor and also the first one to happen in many years. It was clear who the person responsible was. And yet when he appealed to the Valar to help him chase down Morgoth, what did they do? They abandoned him, and on top of that, they demanded that he hand over his greatest works to rebuild the two trees, eventhough they actually had a BACKUP PLAN ANYWAY that they actually used when he refused to cooperate.

Thus he decided to head off and take revenge himself. But not only the Valar, but his ancient friends, the Teleri, also refused to help him, when he came to them at his hour of need. All he asked for was ships, ships that the Teleri did indeed have and could lend. But they refused, claiming the bullshit excuse of "we're saving you from your doom", eventhough HE WOULD'VE USED THE HELACRAXE ANYWAY, AS FINGOLFIN LATER DID, DESPITE BEING MUCH LESS PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ENDEAVOUR. Feanor, understandably pissed, tried to take the ships anyway, but the Teleri decided that a bunch of ships were worth more than the peace of Valinor, and so they started throwing the Noldor off the ships. That is how the first war of Elf against Elf began. In the end, even one of his brothers, Finarfin abandoned him.

The Valar banished the Noldor from Aman, as if they bore sole responsibility for the Kinslaying, while the Teleri received zero punishment whatsoever. Morever, the Valar decided that they should not help with the war against Morgoth, eventhough the Noldor were not the only ones who would suffer: Infact, the Sindar, the brothers and sisters of the Teleri, were the group that was most at risk, not to mention the race of Man that would awaken during the conflict: Infact, the Noldor cherished and protected the men that would later inhabit Numenor, and it was the Noldor, not any Vala, that made sure not all of Eru's second children would fall to the darkness of Morgoth.

The hypocrisy, stubbornness and pure idiocy of the Valar was what led to the tragedies of the First Age. Morever, if Doriath had actually joined the league of Meadhros, the battle of Unnumbered Tears would have been a great victory. And yet the valiant warriors who fought for the justice of the world are branded as the villains, while the cold-hearted bastards who watched while everyone perished are considered the great and noble ones.

Feanor was a hero.

If ever it interests you, here is a (casual) game I started on a Middle-Earth - First Age map I made: http://atwar-game.com/games/?link=7475364977

Here is a link to the description of the scenario: http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=22335

I wanted to modify the map since many years now (to balance it so we can use without scenarios, build more scenarios, ...), but since the map editor is broken, i can't. I know some people apparently can connect to the old silver light version, but I tried innumerable ways, and it doesn't work (firefox, i.e., chrome, on Windows, Linux, tried SL-like softwares, etc ..., nothing works).

It's a shame, I put so many hours on it

Actually, it's so not ready i should not have started a game on it ... There are not enough cities for the size of the map ... anyways, it's there if you want to have a look, but it's far from perfect.
