I could be mistaken, so do tell me if I am, but from what I've seen the Falkland Islands aren't a playable country on AW, 100+ or not. Why is this? I'm wondering.
Even if it was implemented as an independent region what would we call it?
In my personal opinion, it should be called Malvinas, for example.

"Whenever death may surprise us, let it be welcome if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear and another hand reaches out to take up our arms".
Stay small Argentina. Until Falkland Islanders want to be a part of Argentina then all the nationalist rhetoric in the world won't make a bit of difference. The islands stay pink on the map.
It would be called the Falklands because that is it's English name. calling it malvinas would be like calling the UK Reino Unido or the US Estados Unidos or any other country it's Spanish name in Afterwind.
From a game point of view I'd add it as Argentina (having UK have it would be a little stupid) or you can do that independent island you did with that French Oceania stuff. The name should be Falklands though because that's the English name, despite it being disputed over.
I think it'd be cool to add it, I really love all the small islands around.
also I'm sure we can handle the falklands dispute the same way the kosovo one was handled, lol
The main reason Falkland is not in AW - the entire population is only 3140 people. The 'capital' has 2115. Not quite on par with ~100.000 usually required to be featured.

Ah, well, thank you for clearing that up and giving a reason not to do with who it'd belong to, Ivan.
If I had to say, though, I'd say it should be an independant country on AW, that's what I meant in the first place.

Objection!
Isn like UK or US because they are translations, Malvinas isnt the Translation of Falklands.
Also there are many countries with Spanish name in America without English translation.
For example you say Puerto Rico and not "Rich Port" and El Salvador.
One french expedition is the reason of the name.
The most part of the sailors that visited those islands were from the French Port, Saint Malo.
They were "Malouines". The name was official when Bougainville took possesion of those islands.
John Strong Called Falklands to the STRAIT that separates the two largest islands.
Calling it Malvinas would be like calling those islands like the true name of the islands.
Falklands is just the name of a strait.
Bah.
Thats like Gibraltar.
Their minds are corrupted by the British Empire.
Just a joke lol.
I dont care if they want be part of Argentina or UK, i just say the True Name of those islands.
that's funny, these countries decided to stay with the British as and after the empire fell, and not claim independence like the other countries we owned did.
also as i remember, it was Argentina that invaded the falklands, because of a power struggle, falklands were quite happy never to be part of Argentina, and always will be.
Since were on what should and shouldn't be in AW as a country I just want to throw it in there. (it isn't bugging me much on this, it is after all just a game) BUT....Northern Ireland. Let the debates begin.

I hate to advocate drugs alcohol and violence to the kids, but it's always worked for me.
Northern Ireland has never claimed to be an independent state though... it's merely whether it's a part of RoI or UK. I suppose it's like disputed territories such as Western Sahara or Kashmir where they've just gone with whoever controls it as of right now instead of having a gaping hole in the map.
Yes butin the game it is part of the UK although it is clearly a part of Ireland. I was just trying to keep everyone argueing to be honest lol. Although no one really cares it seems.

It's a part of the same Island as Ireland yes. That does not mean it's the same country. See Dominican Republic - Haiti. Papua New Guinea - Indonesia. Malaysia - Indonesia.
The only time it's ever been fully united is under British rule. It's always been a patchwork of dynasties, like Germany was before unification. The existance of Northern Ireland is not a contentious issue and no one disputes it in the way that Awazad, Chechnya, South Ossetia etc. etc. are disputed.
