Hello all, I am a relatively new member of AtWar, and I've run across a bit of a problem. Me and several of my friends found this game about a week or two ago, and have been enjoying it immensely. We'd usually set up a private match and learn how to play without having to worry about more experienced players beating us up, and it was good. Then we noticed we could no longer place a password without buying premium. We dealt with it, playing with people we didn't know wasn't going that bad at all. But then some of us hit the point in which we could no longer go into beginner matches, so we had to set up a main match. This is where things went wrong. Upon entering the match, there were about ten of us, both my friends and complete strangers. Having learned my mistakes from picking my initial country in mid-Africa or Madagascar, I instead go with Egypt, in hopes I would be able to secure the Middle-East. I capture a few countries before I notice Cyan-team (Iran) making a push into my bordering neutral countries. I then look to see that Orange-team (Germany) had already conquered several countries and began to push south into the Mediterranean Sea. Cyan starts to attack Egypt, so I send a request of peace to Orange in hopes he could help me drive him out. Next turn starts up, I manage to keep Cyan off Egypt, and send an air transport with marines to his capital in Iran, which he has left unguarded. I don't usually try to take capitals this early, being around turn 4, but if he's trying to push me out of the way so early, I'd be better off getting rid of him. But the very turn I am to take his capital, he abandons the game. Okay, fine, I'll just take his capital anyway so I can gain some ground that was lost during the previous skirmishes. Next turn comes around, Orange denied my peace treaty, and takes Iran for himself. I look to see if he was allied with Cyan. He wasn't, but he is allied with Blue-team (India). Next thing I know, Blue and Orange both rip through and control nearly all of the Middle-East, with the former also controlling Ethiopia and other countries south of me. Things are getting really uncomfortable, with only two of my countries left after their massive advancement. Turn 7. Cairo is taken by Orange. Turn 8. I take it back, but lost a chunk of my forces in the process. Turn 9. Cairo is taken again by Orange. Turn 10. The other two cities I had are taken, leaving me with no chance at retaking Cairo. "You lost. But as long as you've learned from your mistakes, you haven't really lost." I'm fairly miffed at this point, seeing as I was expecting a nice game with my buddies, and I get pubstomped. The two (or three) guys who ganged up on me were of higher rank, and surprisingly had 25 (Blue) and 65 (Orange) reputation. My question here is that, is there any way these guys were breaking rules? Or, at the very least, any way of preventing this from happening again without having to get premium for the password? Thanks in advance for help.

There was no violation of rules (http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=1843). Diplomacy is very important for new players you should notice it soon if you play on and gain more experience. If you just want to play with your friends you can either get premium (http://atwar-game.com/premium) or just ask people in the lobby to create a private game for you and your friends. Usually people are helpful and friendly there.

Glad to see a helpful and kind community here. Oh wait nevermind. I too am pondering how this could be done. Perhaps Password game should be taken off the "GET PREMIUM GIVE US MONEY SO WE GIVE YOU FEATURES" selection, and just make it available for all users. Not everybody wants to pay for a fun experience... Thats a hint hint Atwar Creators

Actually I have fun even without premium,so this is not necessary, though I do agree with you that it is quite wrong u need premium to create a private room.

How about you guys put the player limit down to how many of you want to play? If you got 4 friends, make the game for 5 people only. Or is that also not not possible without premium?

And as the game host you have the ability to kick any unwanted player out of your game. But only while country picking phase.

Just cleaned up a few posts, people, stay on topic. Also, yes I'm in favor of moving private games out of premium.
