Its a serious thing and I feel its better to have someone leave the game because of a ban than have multiple players leave because someone is ruining a game that took a hour to fill. Its even a rule but I feel its not being enforced for the following situation. Game Behavior 1. Doing anything that interferes with the ability of other users to enjoy playing a game in accordance with its rules, or that materially increases the expense or difficulty of staff in maintaining the game for the enjoyment of all its users is not permitted.

Agreed, I told tik that all I could do was give those players (trolls) a warning, due to a lack of evidence. However, for some players, including many from evol, should deserve a ban if they commit such acts again. Perhaps we should make a post in forums stating that we will not tolerate this sort of behavior. By saying: first offense = warning. second offense = ban. and so forth.

I think we should only give warnings to players rank 8 and below. Anyone above knows they shouldn't. The hardest part is deciding which is which. This is where we need the admins help. We need a way to prevent players from joining to many games rapidly

Perhaps the best way, is let the players resolve it by allowing them a way to ban players on their maps

This is the best option but as we already know this means more work as you would have to make it and then port it to HTML5. Like tophats suggested a public post regarding this would be the best option.

We can't really enforce people not to leave, because they might have reason, but we can allow map creators to do that. We can just be the overseer to that, make sure the system does not get abused. We should get admins input into this situation.

Yes, unfortunately while players don't have the necessary tools to remove griefers, we as mods need to take action.

Agree. We should aid games (specially scenarios) by kicking trolls.

We've decided to allow map-makers to create ban lists. In addition, people will be able to ban other players from entering games they started.

Will the mod community have access to the list? One thing i was thinking about would the mapmakers becoming more like a mafia shakedown with the banlist. I feel like we should implement a new rule to prevent such behavior from occuring: Like: Banning a player from a map other then trolling the game is not allowed.

Each ban list would be exclusive to that map?

No, it will be one list per player and will be the same for all of their maps.

What would be the best course of action when these banlists start being used to ban normal players too? Amok, Ivan, can we have a way to block a player from using/maintaining a banlist, in the case the mapmaker starts misusing it?

This is for the best. Whatever degree of power you give to the normal player, please give moderators a higher version of it.

Agree with Desu. But, with power comes responsibility for taking action. Are we sure about additional "work" to be done? Can we manage it?

I think it would be best if it was a switch: remove the ability of this player to enforce banlists. And then we establish that a single offense and you cannot ban people from your games anymore. And I'd like to suggest a less griefing-prone approach, one that wouldn't just move the griefing aspect from one side to the other:
I think this way we wouldn't need to moderate the griefing, players would have the ability to cooperatively improve their games and would prevent personal banning (like Kaiser Adog was boasting about in the forums). (we could also implement this some variation of this system to mute flooding players in chat)

It's a good proposal, but I feel it's also prone to abuse. Also, in a game with 2-4 players, it would be too easy to get a downvote token simply because other players don't like you or collude to kick you out of the game. Also, it requires a lot of coding, whereas the banlist is already 100% done (just waiting for Amok to update the service). I can however add a user permission that will block map-makers from using banlists - that would be pretty simple to arrange.

That user permission would be useful, if we see a player abusing we can remove the privilege.

called it, now the mapmakers are like to go on strike unless they get what they want. I propose we archive this and make it public, just to show the community we actually care
