I was just thinking. Everyone says it's an unwritten rule to not wf in turn 1. But what if that was just part of the game and you have to learn how to address that. How would that change the game? How would that change your strategies to safeguard from a turn 1 wf? It's just another obstacle and another challenge to overcome. I think it would be really interesting to watch some experienced players do a 3vs3 where everyone did a round 1 wf.

I'd find that a huge lack of respect from my opponents unless it's agreed beforehand. Agreeing on that would make everyone change their plans a bit, specially considering that you can't afford getting capped on turn 2 or else your expansion would be of no use. Or it would make one play a defensive strategy, rush him and then defend his cap with everything. It already was part of the game as far as I know, I'm just glad I wasn't here to see it happen.

But, it's theoretically impossible to block a wf the 1st turn. The only way to counter it would be to wf them too. If this was not an "un-written" rule, lower ranks who don't know any better wouldn't have a chance at survival. Here's a situation as an example: Rank 3-4 chooses a country, rank 5-13 chooses a country right next to it. The lower rank, having little knowledge, simply walls his cities and moves his units toward his next target (probably neutral expansion). The higher rank wf's turn 1 and moves all his troops near the lower rank's cap. Turn 2: Higher rank obliterates lower ranks cap, while the lower rank blitzes back to his cap, but, of course, it's too late, and he is defeated. Overall, it lowers the chances of lower ranks getting allies early in-game (which is absolutely necessary for a lower rank to win most of the time), as people are always trying to wf all the other players in the game turn 1. As far as higher ranks go, might be ok, but would result in almost every game being an incredible blood bath by turn 2. Interesting idea, but not sure how it could affect gameplay in a good way

If you know that your opponent will wf you on 1st turn, just make a bigger wall so that his unit stays inside the big wall. Your cap is safe.

But, if they wf the 1st turn, that makes the wf capable of puncturing any wall it passes along the way right? Anyway, you get my point right?

Yeah, I get your point but are you capable of guessing where will your opponent place his wall? If he doesn't expect a wf, he will just use the normal 3 man wall. If he knows you will wf that, he will go for a bigger wall. Games would be retarded as in a spam of units just to try to wf your opponent.

I would say most of the players would like to reduce the luck factor as much as possible in the game. And without walling in turn 2, the game would be a lot more prone to luck. "should I rush, defend and so on" not real skill. (reading people mind might be a skill).

I don't know if you got the joke, but that means is not a rule. You are free to Wall Fuck anyone you want ! In the same way you are able to back stab an ally and take his emptied cities Now, if beside gaming, what you are looking for is for respect, then you should avoid using those two tactics... but if what you want is fun, then there is no problem with you using it.

people like games to develope a bit, this would be less likely to happen with such early cap pressure. Also countries with high starting reins would get a nice advantage.

Yeah You guys made good points about how that might turn out to be more luck at the beginning and high reinforcement countries would have serious advantage. I hadn't even thought of doing a wide wall to encompass their wf unit. Brilliant. Do people do that on turn two often when they know someone will break their wall? I don't think I've noticed that before.

It can be done but you need to make a balance between the units you know you're wasting on that wall and the reinforcements you might get by futher expanding or the city you might need to defend. You'd also need to know whether you might need to waste a transport in order to achieve that and if you'll have time enough to make a big wall. It's a question of efficiency and priority I guess.

Why? • Because its bad for the game • Some countries naturally have a huge advantage if both players wall fuck 1st turn • Some countries can have more then that ...with 1 player being able to wall fuck while the other cant/or would be to expensive and unfair for him etc. I would like nothing more then a mechanism to prevent this ...i proposed few times that "capitals become unattackable turn 2" which i'm sure admins could do. Popular response to that "then no one would wall turn 1" ...my response to that: So fucking what.
