I was watching this atwar board ranking thread made my phoenix and i saw many 10s there reminded me of school grade system we had in albania.

For example we had our lowest grade 4 (which can fail your semetres and school year if you keep getting it), 5,6,7,8,9,10 (best grade)
From these , 4,5,6 were bad grades......7,8 were ok but not acceptable by our parents lol ..... 9,10 were awesome and 10 could get you in balkanian ,european, world olimpiads of mathematic, biology and general knowledge.

I know in usa they go by letters like A B C D E F where A is the best grade and F is the worst.

How is it in your country?

>Requires less than half to pass a test in the majority of the countries, here you need more than it.
> Still have better education system than us. In fact we perform worsen than Haiti in education.

Do you have a high fail rate?

Not really. You require 17/30 to pass the national tests and the 80% of Dominicans who took it passed last year. Either this is further proof that exams aren't the best way to evaluate the people or our exams are too damm easy.

It has a lot to do with professors and little to do with subject itself.

I hated math till 6th grade, loved it untill 10th (first grade of high school) and now in hs I am like meh, I always get good grade, but don't like teacher.
Hated history in school, but absolutely loved it outside, now in hs I like it because our teacher is super smart

For ireland youve primary school(junior infants/senior infants and 1st to 6th class) then secondary school(highschool equivalent, 1st year to 6th year). No exams in primary school but secondary schools have entrance exams that require a certain standard. first major set of exams is junior cert in 3rd year from 11 subjects, maked A-F. 4th year is an optional transition year. Then leaving cert(finals equivalent). The leaving cert basically decides your career and is from 7 subjects. It is marked out of 600 points. 100 per higher level subject. Grades are a assigned a points value. Youve your 6 best subects out of how ever many marked. Most ppl do 7, more is rare as its very difficult.

edit: actually a bonus 25 points are given for maths since i did the leaving. This was to encourage more student to do higher level maths. its now out of 625. In fairness the maths course is the longest and most difficult to boot so i see why.

In grade school, here in the US, it's 0 to 100. At my university, it's 0 to 100.
Some grade schools consider passing to be 60, while others consider it to be 75, and private institutions might have it even higher.
A: 90 to 100.
B: 80 to 89.
C: 70 to 79.
D: 60 to 69.
F, failure: 0 to 59.
The high school I graduated from required a passing grade of 75, a mid C.
My university requires a minimum of a 75 for its courses.

There can be quite a bit of variation in schools because of the relatively decentralized school system here in the US. I'm not saying it's that decentralized, we have national standards from the retards in the Department of Education, but compared to, for example, Korea, it's decentralized.

I went to a lovely school just outside the city of detroit, we slept, skipped, or did not go at all and somehow we still made honors, but seriously education in the United states is a joke, I am dead serious about rarely putting any effort and passing easily, not because I'm claiming to be some genius but because it was a good day if the teachers showed up let alone the kids.

Egyptian system goes by grades of "excellent, very good, good, acceptable, fail" for the early years and in high school you go by percentages. International schools differ tho depending on home country. There's IB schools, American schools, Canadian schools, IG, English, etc...
