AtWar Draft 2021

Top coalitions are filled with talent, lots of talent, but that talent can only last for so long (as we age and players quit) and thus requires a funnel to keep coalitions alive for the long-term. Furthermore, that talent is only consolidated in years long veterans with rookie upstarts being few to none at this point. This idea may also make the game more exciting for people as it adds a new dimension to the game.

The solution? AtWar Draft 2021

The rules?
1. The Top 15 coalitions have a draft at the end of each Season where they select from a pool of players who have declared for the draft rank 5-7. The drafted player cannot be an alt.
2. The draft order is set in reverse based off last Season's rankings. There will be 2 rounds to the draft with both rounds following the reverse ranking order.
3. The Top 15 coalitions of the season are given a set amount of PC each season to share amongst its players in order to "pay" for them that season. Players can negotiate a contract each season, but must be paid each season at least a minimum amount of PC. Players are paid at the end of the Season.
4. Coalitions can trade their draft picks for PCs during the draft to pay their existing roster more. They can't have no draft picks for 2 consecutive seasons.
5. Coalitions can trade players for other players, PCs, draft picks, and draft swap rights but must fulfill the contract that was signed for that player.
6. Once a contract is signed, the player can't play for another team without a trade.
7. Players who are drafted cannot be dropped for the season they were drafted.
8. Coalitions must play at least 5 low rank rookie 2+ vs. 2+ CWs a season with their own rookie line-up vs. another coalition's rookie line-up. A rookie is defined as a player drafted within 3 seasons that is not an alt.
9. Top 15 Coalitions can only trade the current season's draft picks. (Someone probably has a better solution to the problem of future draft picks).
