AtWar in 2021

First of all, I wish everyone a happy new year and I hope your family is well, hard times, right? Well, you may not have noticed, but I'm a little absent from the community for the past few weeks. I have been busy with a number of things like university, work, construction going on in my house, personal projects, holidays, etc. But I would like to declare that I will soon return with exciting activities.

Last year was interesting for the community although some did not notice, we had many improvements in the game (see: atWar Press #25), new content, new tournaments, new Supporters, among other things. We have several reasons to be excited to atWar in 2021!

In order to motivate you even more to stay connected in our community this year, I will list and explain some new and old activities that are about to return.

❯❯ Community events:
The amazing events on Discord will be back! Damn, I miss those events, even with only 5-6 people joining, it was full of awesome moments. Confirmed events for this year are: Trivia Night Party, Movie Night, 1v1 Last Man Standing mini-tournament. More events might be added and there will always be ProtoCoin rewards.

❯❯ Game balancing:
There is some activity going on between the Game Meta Team, many new content will show up on the upcoming months. Dave provided a new tool which accelerated the process of working on Strategies, this is a sign that good things will be developed soon, like Aerial Defender and Covert Operation.

❯❯ Help Squad:
As soon as I rework the Help Squad, every player will be able to join it and become a candidate for the Supporter team in the future. There will be special missions and privileges for this task force, it will be an obligatory step if you wanna join the atWar staff. I can't say much more about it because I'm still thinking about the agenda.

❯❯ Contests:
Many, many, many amazing contests will happen in 2021. I've been thinking about them for months and this is the year where all of them will come out of the darkness and see the light of the day. There will be special rewards, some of them completely new to atWar players.

❯❯ Roleplay Revival Project:
Wow... This is the first time I speak publicly about the RRP... The boys from the Imperial Academy already know part of it, a few special players got an exclusive private message from me, Supporters and Moderators probably saw some rough drafts... It will be huge! Mark my words: ROLEPLAY WILL BE BACK IN 2021! And I mean true roleplaying.

❯❯ atWar lore:
Some of you might have noticed, specially if you are part of the staff, but slowly, gently, an unique lore for atWar is growing up, in 2021 it might become official, who knows...

❯❯ POTY/MOTY rework:
Why are we doing the same stuff for 10 years now? I'll think in something both exciting and fair for the community.

❯❯ FAQ overhaul:
I'm already working on a new FAQ for atWar, I just didn't had enough time to finish it last year.

❯❯ Discord Casino:
Thanks to Mesopotamia, there is a huge increase on activy on our Discord server, that place will turn into a huge hub for atWar in 2021, but of course we need the help from our community for that to happen.

❯❯ New scenario tournaments:
I'll personally host new scenario tournaments in 2021 with many amazing rewards like the Hearts of Iron: atWar Edition. Thanks again for everyone who joined and made an effort to participate of this experience, I learned so much from this first event and I hope that the upcoming ones will be even better. The most important thing is that it was a success and we proved that scenario tournaments in atWar are possible!

❯❯ AW Press:
I'm starting to think about a new format for the AW Press, not sure yet how to do it since atWar writing platform is very limited, but I'll eventually come up with ideas to make it more beautiful and also present special columns and articles in a way that y'all have never seen before.

❯❯ Coalitions:
There is also plans for Coalitions in 2021, I haven't discussed it with anyone yet, but I do have some ideas to make Coalitions looks more respectable groups of players that actually have a commitment to the game and help them build a stable reputation (won't be easy).

❯❯ Map/scenario promotions:
Every month we promote one map and one scenario so all players can host it at will during 30 days. In 2021 I intended to give some preference to recently published works that are worth of promotion. Don't be afraid to share your creations and remember to always playtest!

❯❯ We will be watching:
The staff is always watching players and we really value everyone who are committed to the community, specially me, I got your back. If you have any kind of trouble, you can reach me easily through my mailbox, it won't go unseen.

Roleplay is never coming back, glad it died a slow, horrible death

Roleplay is the cancer of atwar, im ok with minimum rp in scenarios games or whatever, but full rp is the definition of cancer

The UN ones were the worst

gotta sit for 30 turns, and if you war someone, UN in Greenland comes in with broken income to kill u ;(((

RRP won't be like anything atWar has ever saw... It's intended to be a truly roleplaying event done periodically.
