I have a few questions: 1. What is going to be used for the HTML 5 version? Node.js? Angular? Ember? Do you think that going HTML 5 is going to bring an easier development cycle or are the advantages restricted to platform reach? 2. What cool features will make it to HTML 5 that were impossible in Silverlight, besides portability? 3. The current map editor is cool and all, but would it be technically possible, in HTML 5, to create borders in another software? What does the data structure of the map files look like?

1. Fabric.js, Knockout.js and a bunch of other small scripts. HTML5 will certainly improve development cycle as it will be easier to update parts of the game without rebuilding the whole client. This, plus me being much more familiar with HTML/CSS will allow for quicker implementations and fixes on the client side. 2. Scalability is much easier, especially when using Bootstrap. Also, I'm very excited about bringing the website and the game together and using the same css, php and javascript for both. No more duplication! Apart from that, I haven't yet encountered any particular aspects that were impossible in Silverlight. 3. Maps are stored in XAML paths + jpeg images. I guess it might be possible to have some kind of import function - though you would still have to assign countries and add cities in the editor. There's a plugin for Adobe Illustrator that saves in XAML, that should be the easiest to import, I guess. We might look into it once we're done with everything else.

1. We talk on Skype, pretty much every day. Now we also live in the same country, so we meet in person occasionally as well. 2. Something that educates people on a broad variety of subjects (history, politics, economy, society) while still being wildly entertaining and not feeling too dry. A game where the goal is to create a perfectly functioning society while navigating around all the usual pitfalls of human nature and using any tools available (including the unproven ones like cryptocurrencies, universal basic income and other concepts). For all of it to work and not be too simplistic, a mindboggling amount of factors need to be taken into account and possible outcomes realistically calculated. It would be fun to have a multiplayer version as well, each player representing one country, each trying out their own ways, working together or sometimes undermining each others' efforts, just like in the real world. 3. Not a bad idea, but I'm afraid it might be somewhat confusing. I'm also not entirely sure about the necessity of it, since the flow of reinforcements can already be regulated easily. 4 reinforcements every 4 turns or 6 every 6 turns will still work roughly the same, gameplay-wise.

Actually obscuring the map is difficult technically, and a bit useless when you can open map preview on the website What we can do is hide cities and units that are beyond your view range.
We already made some improvements since you have joined, trying to make it more exciting and user friendly. I even made videos for each chapter - sadly, never got around to re-dub them (we both have accents and are not very good at narration in general). Now this is delayed until HTML5, since changing the current version doesn't make sense anymore.

Hello, would it be possible to make units impervious to upgrades? Meaning no matter the upgrade the unit's stats act as though no stat is in play. This seems like it should do what Tunder wishes to achieve with negative range. In addition, do you think it would be possible to allow spectators to scroll over cities and unit stacks to display the name of the player? It would only include the name of the player not the type of units. I ask because I am colorblind and so are other atWar players and we have difficulty connecting colors of cities and units to the player list as many colors look the same. Here is the forum post I made about this problem http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=16125 (Sorry for making this so long). Thank you

To both of you: I spent a few months of playing the game. If you start it, its difficult to stop..but after a while i am missing some long term motivations, despite reaching rank 15. There should be more engagement or interaction or weekly updates about some new functions etc. To your answer about advertising: I think you can make that game very big. Facebook is still a great option for getting cheap a big audience. With not much money you can reach the 100.000 Likes on Fb. Once you are there its increasing more easily on its own. → You would get more visitors and more users what means you will get more money, which you can use to focuse more on the game. Its a unique game mechanics what you both have created, and it has damn great potencial. So simple but very powerful for all strategic players. You can write me your thoughts about that.

We don't have time for weekly updates or increased interaction - especailly now when we're spending all of our available time on finishing the HTML5 version. About the ads - I've already replied that it wasn't really paying off for us, so we decided to stop it for a moment. Greetings!I would like to thank the admins for taking part in this thread! Here are my questions for Ivan and Amok Game related: 1. Theres this thing where if you attack a naval transport and the enemy uses it to move troops, you have a chance to sink his units. Can that mechanic somehow be altered, so it doesn't happen anymore? This makes the game balance to be able to shift radically and unfairly and frankly its not even realistic for 2 infantries, to sink a full naval trans and all the units it carries. General: 1.Would you say, politically, your support tends to go towards the right or the left? 2.What do you think about immigration policies in today's societies and multiculturalism? 3.What do you think about social equality and absolute fair social and employment treatment for minorities (women,immigrants,gays/lesbians/trans,partially disabled etc) 4.What do you think about USA foreign policy in the last years? 5.Do you think the sanctions to Russia were fair and called for? 6.What is your opinion about Islam? Is it really a religion of peace? 7.Why did the Jewish community in the United States, baned the use of the christmas tree, in public buildings and areas?Do you think the christmas tree is rightfully offensive and disrespectful to the Jewish faith and culture and if yes, why? 8.What do you think about the Europe financial crisis and do you think the general conception of Greece being the cause of it, to be true? 9.With the rise of the internet porn industry, it is widely believed the youth is becoming corrupted and perverted and adopting peculiar sexual fetishes, that makes them to stop engaging in the normal "vanilla" sexual practices that humans have been using for hundreds of years.Do you think that this is true and if it is do you think it is a good thing or a bad thing. I think these questions would suffice for now and will serve as a great way for players to get to know their admins and will help us to bond with you and love you more

1. You don't really expect troops loaded on a transport to do the fighting, do you? Of course they sink, what else are they to do? Make sure to bring escort with your transports -- Oh boy, a lot of controversial topics here. Here we go: 1. Left. Greens, more specifically, since they're the only major UK party supporting Basic Income. 2. In an ideal world, I'd like people to be able to move freely anywhere on the globe they want to. Anything else just feels unnatural. Things are of course not that simple in the world we have today. As a person with a lot of empathy, I want people to be able to escape their shithole countries and find better life elsewhere. At the same time, I don't want them bringing their shit with them and messing up non-shithole countries. Some sensible policies probably should be introduced to counter that. Blind multiculturalism does no good to anyone when people just close their eyes and ears at the ongoing problems and valid concerns. That's the attitude that allowed a cancerous party like UKIP to flourish - they were the only ones willing to address the issue. 3. My favorite solution to a lot of this kind of problem is to simply abolish the requirement to work in order to survive. Once you introduce Basic Income, you can probably stop regulating things like minimum wage or equal employment opportunities. But yeah, until then, I surely support the equal treatment of everyone, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation. That just seems like a no-brainer to me. 4. Not just in the last few years. It's been terrible at least since the end of WWII, and probably before that as well. It's the attitude of exceptionalism and the imperialistic bullying and meddling that everyone outside the US hates. 5. Sure they were called for. I haven't really looked into the specifics of the sanctions, but I assume they weren't harsh enough, since Russia is not backing down. Now the UK is talking about cutting Russia from SWIFT, now that would hurt like hell. Hopefully it won't come to that, though, and the situation can be resolved without such extreme economic hostilities. 6. I'm not particularly fond of any religion, but Islam in particular seems to be quite a nuisance. I don't know where the violence comes from, the religion or the culture, and frankly don't care that much. All I know is that they are largely connected and do condone violence and mistreatment of women. 7. Jewish people (and everyone else) need to stop being offended by silly things. The christmas tree thing is just downright silly, and I'm sure a lot of jewish people would agree. 8. The financial crisis was brought by the greed of the wealthy and powerful. I wouldn't blame a specific country. There was a lot of irresponsible and even criminal behavior everywhere - shady banking practices, hands-off government policies and plain old fashioned corruption. The problem of course is that all of these are still at play, nothing has been fixed since the crisis. So, expect another one withing the next few years. 9. It's pure bullshit. Spooky stories that old people are telling to each other.

1.Would you say, politically, your support tends to go towards the right or the left? Centre-left. Although, if I had voting rights in the UK, I'd be voting for Tories, as there don't seem to be a better alternative at the moment. Greens are anti-nuclear/GMO and a bit wacky in general, Labour don't seem to know what they're doing, Lib-Dems are meh, UKIP are...well, UKIP. 2.What do you think about immigration policies in today's societies and multiculturalism? Multiculturalism is kind of like communism - looks good on paper, but impossible in the real world. In this regard, I prefer the American approach to immigration - either integrate or go home. Nothing wrong with keeping your language and culture, etc., but don't try to impose it on other people and don't get offended if they are not very keen on it, especially if it clashes with their morals / beliefs. You know, when in Rome... 3.What do you think about social equality and absolute fair social and employment treatment for minorities (women,immigrants,gays/lesbians/trans,partially disabled etc) I'm all up for it! 4.What do you think about USA foreign policy in the last years? It seemed to have calmed down a bit with all the warmongering, which is a definite improvement. Still, there's a long way to go. 5.Do you think the sanctions to Russia were fair and called for? Absolutely. 6.What is your opinion about Islam? Is it really a religion of peace? Islam's going through the same stage as Christianity once did. It's just that Christianity is more mature, Christians have finally calmed down and tend not to take their religion too personally anymore. Ultimately, these two religions are not too dissimilar. And no, it's not a religion of peace, not by a long shot. 7.Why did the Jewish community in the United States, baned the use of the christmas tree, in public buildings and areas?Do you think the christmas tree is rightfully offensive and disrespectful to the Jewish faith and culture and if yes, why? That's a first time I've heard of it, but it sounds hilarious. Is this really widespread in the US? In my opinion, anyone who claims that someone or something is disrespectful of his faith is probably not too confident in his beliefs anyway and might want to rethink them. Believe all you want, but don't expect others to respect whatever your book of fairy tales tells you. 8.What do you think about the Europe financial crisis and do you think the general conception of Greece being the cause of it, to be true? It's a really complicated issue and I'm not competent enough to speculate on it. Recent years had shown that the European project is certainly far from perfect and the common currency even less so. Greece simply uncovered all the underlying issues with it, they themselves did not cause them. Although they're certainly to blame for the mess they've got themselves into. I'm not really up to date with the current youth fetishes, but whatever rocks their boat. If it's not hurting anyone, what's the problem? And porn did not invent any of that, I'm pretty sure it's all been there since forever. Just don't watch the dodgy stuff and you'll be fine.
